Housing Works is a community for those impacted by and living with HIV/AIDS that was founded in 1990. Through steadfast advocacy, the delivery of life-saving services, and the creation of entrepreneurial enterprises that support their activities, their purpose is to put an end to the twin problems of homelessness and AIDS.
Their mission includes providing direct services to low-income New Yorkers and fighting for social justice on a local and national basis. All purchases made from their retail outlets, which include their 10 New York City Thrift Shops, a Bookstore Cafe, and this eShop, fund this work. Over 30,000 New Yorkers who are homeless and low-income and are living with HIV/AIDS or at risk of contracting the disease have received comprehensive care from us since 1990. Housing, job training, legal support, and all-inclusive healthcare are among these services.
